Site24×7 for iPhone - Track Website uptime status & SLA compliance from your iPhone

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

We have just rolled out an iPhone client that can be used to access Site24×7 website monitoring service. The interface lets you connect to Site24×7 and view the current status of the monitors in your account.

This is useful for you to get a quick overview of the status of your web sites while you are on the move. You can view the current uptime and performance statistics for each of your web sites. You can also view SLA reports and keep track of SLA compliance. There is a separate view for outage statistics for the last 24 hours. The design comes with a tabbed interface which lets you navigate easily between these views - uptime status, SLA reports and Outages.

From the “Home” tab, you can drill down and view the global status of the website for the last 24 hours as well as view info about response time, the primary location from where the website is being monitored, next polling time, etc. From the SLA tab, you can view a summary of the various service level agreements in place. For each SLA, you can drill down and view historical data such as the SLA Goal and SLA Achieved %.

The new client will be a useful tool for webmasters or website owners to check the uptime status & SLA compliance of websites. As always, we will be improving upon this tool in the future as we go along.

Looking forward to your feedback on the new iPhone client!

Site24×7 API: Integrate Website Uptime and Performance data into Portals

Monday, July 27th, 2009

We’ve recently introduced APIs into Site24×7 that lets you pull website uptime & performance data from your account and work with the data in many possible ways. Anyone with programming knowledge can write a program to pull data using the APIs and integrate them into third-party applications.

The APIs are Rest style web APIs over HTTP/HTTPS. The data needs to be extracted in XML format.

You need to generate an API key to start using the APIs. To generate the key, use the Generate API key option under Account tab inside your account.

You may refer this page to know more about Site24×7 APIs. For help on working with the APIs, you can refer our online help documentation.

We will be enhancing the APIs as we go along, so feel free to try out the APIs and provide your feedback.

Introducing Website Monitoring from India

Monday, April 13th, 2009

If your servers are located in India or if your company has business interests in the Indian region, it is definitely worthwhile to keep track of how your website is behaving for Indian users. Now you can accomplish this by making use of our new Indian monitoring location.

You just need to configure a website monitor in Site24×7 and select the Indian server for your site. Site24×7 will then continuously monitor your website from India and send out alerts if there are any problems such as downtime or slow page loading.

The Indian server is located in the city of Chennai in the southern part of India.

This is our 4th monitoring location in Asia after Singapore, China and Japan. With the addition of this new monitoring location, the number of locations in our Global Website Monitoring Network has gone up to 15.

Monitor a group of Websites using Monitor Group

Monday, December 15th, 2008

Do you manage websites belonging to multiple companies? Do you need to keep tabs on the uptime and performance of websites on a company-wise basis? The “monitor group” feature in Site24×7 will allow you to do just that.

The monitor group lets you organize or group multiple monitors into a group. You can use this to tag different websites or servers belonging to a particular client/company into a single group. If you have multiple clients, you can create multiple groups.

A Sample Monitor Group

The advantage with this is you get group-wise downtime and performance reports, so you know exactly how your client is performing.

Setting up a monitor group is very easy. Just click the ‘Monitor Group’ link to open up a wizard from where  you can select the monitors to be part of the group.

The monitor group feature will be very useful for managed service providers who monitor web sites and servers belonging to multiple clients. This is available in the recently-launched Site24×7 Enterprise Account.

What is your take on the monitor group feature? Do let us know your feedback!
